Norbin Barton Quarry

Norbin Barton Quarry between Kingsdown and South Wraxall, also known as Sheppards Shaft was a vertical shaft with lower steps which flooded up to a depth of 40′ A quarryman Herbert Toghill reportedly drowned in this quarry. The shaft was tipped in and little trace of this quarry exists today.
