Brown’s Folly Quarry

Part of the Farleigh Down Quarry this is named after the Folly or ‘Pepperpot’ on the hillside of the same name. Beneath the Folly are several entrances into the side of the hill being the oldest part of the undergound quarry.

One of the earliest quarrymen here was recorded as a Mr. Long

In the 1890’s three separate companies were recorded as quarrying stone here
